ADULT SKATES- Recreational Skates
Recreational skates are designed for people who are just interested in skating and do not wish to get involved in some of the more technical skating disciplines like slalom and freestyle skating. Recreational skates will therefore often have longer frames and bigger wheels which provides the skater with the ability to reach and cruise at greater speeds with improved stability.
However people wishing to skate on a regular basis must in our opinion avoid the cheaper brands that appear to offer similarly spec skates, as the boot and frames will distort alot quicker than the slightly more expensive skates. Distortion takes place when the ankle is not supported thus making both set of ankles twist inwards. A better skate will provide better ankle support allowing your ankles and legs to be inline and therefore improve your skating stride and comfort.
Therefore we would always recommend a well know brand that appears to have a lower spec boot ( such as plastic frames) rather than a cheaper brand offering higher levels of spec ( such as metal frames).
