What time doe the skate start?

The meeting point is in front of the Fort Fun car park along the Eastbourne Sea front. Car park is free!!

How long does the night skate last?

The actual skate only last for approximately over an hour. However before we return back to the Fort Fun car park, we often have a stop over at one of the ice cream parlors! This can often add an extra 30 mins onto the skate!

How safe is the night skate?

The night skate takes place along the Eastbourne promenade which has a very good skating surface. However skaters do need to be careful, as we are skating at night and spotting un even surfaces such as drain covers can be difficult .Therefore falls and injuries can occur!! The E.S.A encourages all skaters to wear safety equipment, including skating lights!

How much does the Friday night skate cost?

This is free event. All we encourage you to do is bring some money for an evening ice cream or a hot drink!

Do you have to be a very good skater to join?

The night skate will often break up into smaller groups. Faster skaters and slower skaters will naturally group together. If you feel unable to keep up with those groups then the Night skate might not be for you!

Is there any age restriction to the skate?

There is no age restriction, however we do insist that young children are accompanied by an adult. It is important to understand that this is an informal skating event where the accompanying adult is fully responsible for the child.
